It all started back in California in 1957 when Bob Scott ("Scotty") began making saddles. Many of his saddles are on display at the Cowboy Hall of Fame and many more are still being ridden by world champion cowboys.

Then in 1967, Scotty became a pilot with Northwest Airlines. He retired from Northwest after 30 years, but Scotty still enjoys flying his Cessna 310.

He made his first flight bag in 1977. The next year saw Scotty selling 2 or 3 flight bags a month to fellow pilots.

Scott Leather has continually grown since those early times, but the workmanship, quality and guarantee of each bag remains the best in the business.

This is the first Flight Bag ever made by Scott Leather Company. It was made for Captain Dick Tribe of Airwest Airlines.

In the 1990's, business professionals started ordering our bags. Now, lawyers, CPAs, salesmen, and executives order them frequently. Our leather bags have become known as litigation cases, audit cases, salesmen sample cases, and just "the best darn briefcases in the world".

Whether you call them flight bags or business cases, our bags are carried by pilots of every major airline, as well as gracing the boardrooms of some of the most influential executives in the country.

Each bag is still proudly handmade in Texas from a single piece of Grade A leather. It takes approximately 5 hours to make one of our bags by hand!

We can custom make bags to your specific dimensions or add custom-sized pockets for your individual needs. Even though we've grown, each bag is still made one at a time by hand.
