Secure Ordering
From start to finish, here's how the secure ordering process works:
- Starting Your Order: Every order at Scott Leather is secure. You shop in standard mode until you "Checkout". You'll find the "Checkout" button on your Shopping Cart. After you've selected the products you wish to order and click Checkout, the security features are invoked.
- Entering Secure Mode: Your computer and our server begin communicating in secure mode, sending data back and forth in an encrypted format. It's at this point that we ask you for your credit card information. The encryption features of browser software are exceptionally powerful and ensure the security of this data as it is transmitted to our server.
- Completing Your Order: Our security measures continue even after you've placed your order. We process your credit card using Signio, a leader in secure online credit card processing. We will send you an email with your order confirmation number, shipment date and an expected order arrival date.
- A browser in secure mode will display a netsite address beginning "https://" rather than the standard "http://". The "s" stands for "secure."
- Most browsers in secure mode also display a blue line along the top of the browser window.
- In Netscape Navigator (versions 3.0 & earlier), the broken key symbol in the lower left corner of your browser window will become a solid key in secure mode. If you're using Netscape Communicator 4.0, look for the padlock in the same space: it's open in standard mode and closed in secure mode.
- In Microsoft's Internet Explorer®, you'll see a padlock symbol at the bottom of your browser window when the browser is in secure mode.
